How Local Partnerships Are Expanding Access to Bicycles

In the last month and a half, we have been thrilled to be able to partner with some incredible nonprofit organizations in the Boise community to ensure that we are realizing our mission - that bicycles and the community that surrounds them are accessible to all people!

We’re extremely grateful that we have been able to partner with the Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse, Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), Mission 43, and our buds at High Desert Hustle to help facilitate adaptive cycling experiences, mountain biking cohorts, and access to accessible bicycles tunes and repair.

In May, we were proud to support the Challenged Athletes Foundation’s sixth annual Mountain Bike Apex Weekend event, where CAF offered skill building, community, and races for our adaptive community. Our community showed up, with 30 + volunteers showing up alongside staff to ride alongside participants, to act as course marshals and share space with riders of all skill levels and cycle types! A truly awesome event!

We were also hyped to join the Idaho Outdoor Field House as they launched the Forged Together mountain bike cohort, which combined veterans served by Mission 43 with folks with burgeoning adaptive cyclists from CAF to have a shared cohort of folks looking to expand their physical fitness, mountain bike skills, and community. It was an honor to be able to join with the cohort at the kickoff and ensure that their bicycles were tuned and functioning nicely, as well as to ride along with them and celebrate the growth that they experienced during the program!

We’re excited to continue partnering with these organizations to ensure that bicycles and the confidence, skills, and community that they entail are available to all - feel free to check out ongoing Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse rides on Wednesday mornings, as well as to keep an eye out for support roles for Adaptive MTB rides starting in August!
