Cheukhang Lau

Mechanic

My journey in the U.S. began in the beautiful city of Tucson, Arizona.

Thanks to the wonderful people at European Service and BICAS, I immersed myself in the world of vintage European cars and bikes, sparking a lasting fascination with all things mechanical.

That experience in Arizona eventually led me to the Boise Bicycle Project, where I now get to wrench on all kinds of bikes and build meaningful connections with a great community.

On my days off, I enjoy biking, fishing, cooking, and exploring Idaho’s incredible wilderness areas.

Cheukhang’s Ride: Nishiki Sebring

“I wanted a do-it-all bike that’s unique, comfortable and able to haul stuff around. And this Sebring mixte came to me through Facebook, and I just couldn’t say no to the color scheme, mixte design, and the $15 price tag. And for the past year I’ve been slowly replacing parts for it to suit my needs, but it’s still currently rocking the original headset, brake calipers, and brake pads! And the memories I’ve had with the bike since is why I love it so much!”
