Open Streets Boise is here! Join us at the community celebration on Sunday, September 27th! Supported by the City of Boise and in collaboration with the Collister Neighborhood Association, the street will be transformed into a space where you can walk, bike, and roll while having loads of fun! Check out the run of show, activities & businesses along the route, how to ride the bike bus, and what to bring below. Really, everything you need to know before you go!

Activities, Performances, and Exciting Stops
Live Music & DJ Sets at the Stage in Catalpa Park
Our stage in Catalpa Park will be bumpin’ with live music and DJ sets all afternoon! Check out Braided Waves from 1-2 PM and Plum Vision from 3-4 PM, with Radio Boise KRBX DJs throughout.
Gutterboat Races with Collister Neighborhood Association
Bring kids over to the gutter boat races with Collister Neighborhood Association! Design a sail to attach to a miniature boat, and then race it down the gutters! These races will be held in the West Hub.
Live Dance & Street Performances
Colossal Collective will have one of their giant puppets roaming around. Starbelly School of Dance will perform from 12 -1 PM, Mariachi Cantares de México from 1 - 2 PM, and Good Times Street Band from 4 - 5 PM, all in the East Hub on the street!
Skate Jam with the Boise Skateboard Association
Boise Skateboard Association is setting up a pop-up skate park in the street built with temporary rails and ramps from 2-3:30 PM in the East Hub. Bring your skateboard and elbow pads!
Active Activities with Local Groups & Businesses
Join the Girls on the Run for their “Happy Pace Run” at 12:30 PM in Catalpa Park! This family-friendly run is free and open to everyone, and it will be 1.5 miles! Pick up a bib, bedazzle it, and join the race. Registration is encouraged in advance, but the run is free and open to everyone. You can sign up here. YogaSix will be leading free yoga classes in Catalpa Park from 1-1:30 and 1:30-2 PM. Bring your mat! And finally, you can check out Verdant Crossfit’s throwdown in the street in the East Hub.
Safe Routes to School’s Bike Rodeo
Our friends at Safe Routes to School are popping up with a bike safety rodeo, so make sure to steer your young ones on wheels through so they can maneuver the course, have some laughs, and learn a thing or two! You can find the bike rodeo in Collister Elementary’s parking lot. Youth ages 12 and under who complete the safety course and need a bike of their own can receive a “golden ticket” for a free bicycle at the Boise Bicycle Project, redeemable during business hours.
Just Eat Local’s Mocktail Trailer & Beer Garden with Lost Grove Brewing
Just Eat Local will have their mocktail trailer slinging sweet and tangy alcohol-free refreshments, while Lost Grove Brewing will be serving their locally-brewed beer. Proceeds benefit the Boise Bicycle Project! You can find them in Catalpa Park next to the stage.
Boise Bicycle Project’s Pop-Up Parklet & Quick-Build Demonstration
Visit the Boise Bicycle Project’s pop-up parklet and quick-build demonstration in the West Hub and learn about how small temporary changes to our streets can test ideas, help gather community feedback, and show what bike and pedestrian infrastructure improvements are possible! Support local Collister Neighborhood businesses that will be at the event!
Edwards Greenhouse
If you haven’t visited the whimsical Edwards Greenhouse, this is the perfect time! You can visit them during their special event hours, 10 AM - 5 PM, pick $10 flower bouquets in their cutting garden, and shop their one-day sales with 30% off fall annuals, veggies, and spring bulbs and 50% off houseplants and tropicals. Access the greenhouse from the event by using the pedestrian pathways, marked from the central hub. They will also have a booth in the Central Hub.
The James Castle House
The James Castle House is a historic site and museum upheld in the legacy of self-taught artist James Castle. As stewards of this legacy, the James Castle House manages his art and artifact collections and offers public opportunities to engage with the site. The history of the James Castle House can be found here. They will have an artmaking activity in the East Hub.
SLVR 72
SLVR 72 is a local custom jewelry studio and workshop space, with silversmith workshops, permanent jewelry, and more. They will be selling locally made jewelry and permanent jewelry at their booth in the East Hub.
Crisp
Enjoy a food truck worthy of a chef’s kiss! Local chef Jake and spouse Christina will be serving specials at the event out of their food truck, Crisp. They are Collister neighbors who heavily focus their dishes on peak-season local produce and regional farms. You can find them in the West Hub.
Liberian Flavors Kitchen
Savor authentic West African and Liberian cuisine at Liberian Flavors Kitchen food truck! Common dishes include Liberian chicken, Jollof rice, cassava leaf, beef kabobs, soups, and more! You can find them in the East Hub.

At Open Streets Boise, there is no designated event parking. We encourage attendees to walk, bike, take transit, or carpool. If you decide to drive, please park legally and abide by traffic laws. Bike parking will be next to Collister Elementary School and at the intersection of W Catalpa Dr and N Tamarack Dr.

Ride the Open Streets Bike Bus
Join one of our bike buses and ride with a giant group of bicyclists to Open Streets Boise at a fun, social, party pace!
The Polecat Loop Trail ride will be led by the High Desert Hustle cycling team at a “party pace”. The Boise Co-op Market, Boise Bicycle Project, and Garden City Library bike buses cross busy roads, so we ask that if you have kids, they ride in a trailer or carrier, or are 10 years or older with confident riding skills. We encourage families to join the Sunset Park family bike bus, which is a shorter 1.5-mile ride to the event!

By joining a bike bus, you’re agreeing to ride at your own risk. You are responsible for your own safety, bike, and equipment, and for following all traffic laws. Organizers and volunteers are not responsible for injuries, accidents, or damages that may occur during the ride. These rides have a no-drop policy and will be ridden at a group pace.
What to Bring
Make the day your own! Bring a funky bike, chalk a street mural, busk or perform, juggle, hula hoop, do yoga, or just relax on a picnic blanket or chair. Plan a walk, run, or ride along the route, and bring your energy and imagination to bring the street to life! Don’t forget a chair or blanket, water bottle, sun protection, a reusable cup, and leash your pup if you bring one. Weather this time of year can be unpredictable, so make sure to look before you go and dress accordingly!
