Thank You for Joining Us at Open Streets Boise 2025! Announcing the 2026 Neighborhood…
Thank you, Boise! From the bottom of our hearts, we’d like to extend a sincere thank you to all the neighbors, businesses, cyclists, rollerbladers, and good time folks who came out on Sunday to join us in Ustick Road.
It’s incredible to see what our community looks like when it joins together, and it’s just to know that it takes that same energy to say that we want Ustick Road to feel as safe today as it did Sunday.
After months of planning, our team arrived on a quiet Ustick Road early Sunday morning. By noon, the street had transformed.
Bike bells echoed across the valley as riders from the Boise Co-op and Sunset Park merged in perfect synchrony to cross State Street, continuing on toward the greenbelt. At noon on cue, 350 cyclists crested the hill at Mountain View Drive – Open Streets Boise 2025 had officially begun.
Neighbors pulled lawn chairs into driveways. A young girl on a purple tricycle rode from her garage across from our Central Hub and straight into the street without a backward glance. No cars for the day and the freedom to explore their neighborhood.
Among our guests was Ann, a 93-year-old neighbor who had first voiced concerns at a September library meeting. We were able to walk her through our safety plans and brainstormed ways that her kids and grandkids could participate in the event. On Sunday, we were excited to see her walking back home with her son, smiling after enjoying food and live music in the Central Hub.
Throughout the day, the street came alive with food vendors representing eight global cuisines, a Kung Fu demonstration from the Idaho Shao-Lin Center, and music and dance from Global Lounge, showcasing the vibrant multicultural heartbeat of Boise from businesses located right there on Ustick Rd.
Twelve hours after we arrived, the last of our equipment was packed and Ustick reopened to a steady stream of cars. It was like we had never even been there…but we know the community will always remember the day we spent together on Ustick Rd!
Supported by the City of Boise and in collaboration with the Winstead Park Neighborhood Association, the event saw thousands of community members, residents, and organizations/businesses come together and reimagine our streets for people, not just cars.
If you made it to Open Streets Boise this year, we would love to hear your feedback. Please fill out the short form below.

We want to send a special thank you to our 2025 sponsors, businesses along W Ustick Rd, and Trademark Creative and HP for helping with signage and promotional materials for the event.
