Idaho Gives 2024 - BFF Block party

  • Boise Bicycle Project 1027 South Lusk Street Boise, ID, 83706 United States (map)

Every year Boise Bicycle Project participates in Idaho Gives. This program of the Idaho Nonprofit Center is designed to bring the state together, raising money and awareness for Idaho nonprofits in 4 days. This year, we will be fundraising from April 29- May 2 to raise $100,000! Thanks to an anonymous BBP member, every donation made during Idaho Gives will be 100% matched (up to $50,000)!

Idaho Gives is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and without funding, we wouldn’t be able to expand our work in the community.

Last year you helped support our advocacy work. With that support, our Advocacy Committee and community partners made an incredible impact on our streets. We affected meaningful infrastructure change, including the bicycle and pedestrian improvement projects on 8th Street as well as Capitol Boulevard. We also engaged over 750 kids with pop-up traffic gardens- teaching them the rules of the road & helping them earn a referral for a bicycle if they needed one.

This Idaho Gives, we invite you to join us on “the path to opportunity”- a journey that begins with getting a bicycle, but extends to the personal, social, and economic opportunities that a bicycle provides. Donations this Idaho Gives will allow us to ensure that all kids and families in our community have access to bicycles, while also serving to expand apprenticeship programming for teens and incarcerated women.

During Idaho Gives, the Lusk District transforms into a hub for dozens of Idaho non-profits, with organizations setting up on the streets and storefronts to engage with the community. This year, join the Boise Bicycle Project and other non-profits in the Lusk District for a lively event featuring live music, food, games, and a variety of activities!

The BFF Block Party is happening on April 30th from 4 - 8 PM, followed by an after-party at Lost Grove Brewing from 8 - 9 PM. Those who attend will have the opportunity to learn about Idaho non-profits while enjoying a fun-filled tour of each storefront and street stretch, including BBP’s two featured activities.

1.Riding 100 Laps for $100k

Join us for a hilarious time “riding 100 laps for $100k” during the BFF Block Party from 5 - 7 PM! This goofy community event is part of our Idaho Gives campaign, where we aim to raise $100,000 in four days between April 29 - May 2nd.

This ride isn’t your typical tour, it’ll be a ride where anything goes - bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, unicycles, you name it! The funkier the outfit, the better. Bring your sense of humor with you for these laps. If you want to take a break or join us for just a few, feel free to hop on and off as much as you’d like! This event is to celebrate Idaho Gives, say hi to other non-profits, support a great cause, and embrace pedal-powered fun! If you want to go the extra mile, you could get your friends, family, and neighbors to pledge $ per lap you complete to help us raise $100k. Donations can be made on IdahoGives.org.

2. Traffic Calming & Pop-up Park

During the BBP Block Party, BBP’s Advocacy Committee will have installed a pop-up traffic calming demonstration in front of BBP & Downtown Hound. This pop-up park with chairs, plants, and refreshements will provite a comfortable space for pedestrians and bicyclists passing by/attending the block party. This temporary installation will also slow down cars in our neighborhood while we ride 100 laps for $100k! Stop by for a refreshment.
