Thank you! Our event sponsors are beyond!

Now that the 2019 Holiday Kids Bike Giveaway is a wrap, I wanted to take a few minutes to acknowledge all of the generous sponsors who helped make this event a success!

These are local and national vendors, businesses, and individuals that I can’t speak about highly enough. I suggest that you give these great teams your business if you ever have a need for what they provide.

Every year, the team at Event Rent provides our event setup (think tents, lights, heaters, tables) at a generous discount and shows up at 5AM to kick off the day for us with a quick and efficient set-up. “EventRent is Idaho's premier, full services rental company professionals. For a One-of-a-Kind experience, all you need is EventRent!”

We see over 1,000 people at our shop on the day of the giveaway. That’s a lot of trips to the bathroom! Our friends at PortaPros generously donate portable toilets to the event. “At PortaPros, we provide portable restroom solutions for jobsites, events, weddings and more. Owned and operated in Boise, Nampa and Ontario, PortaPros is the Treasure Valley region’s top choice for clean portable restrooms with local, reliable service.”

ESI Grips, headquartered in Northern Arizona, donated over 500 pairs of grips in all the colors that allowed us to create dream bikes! “ESI (Extreme Steering, Inc.) is located in Northern Arizona and we are proud to have all our products being made right here in the USA. Established in 1999, we have spent almost 20 years providing superior products for the bicycle industry. Through new product development, ESI offers unique, high tech, quality products MADE in the USA followed with exceptional Customer Service! We are the original and ultimate 100% Silicone Grips chosen by champions!”

Kenda Tires, with US headquarters in Ohio, donated new 20 inch tires for us to use on the dream bikes that came to us with old and worn out tires. Find Kenda on social media and follow along on their story! @kendatire @kendamtb @kendaroad

Our BBFs Dawson Taylor Roast are year-round partners and truly humor every request and odd-ball idea we throw their way. They provided free coffee and hot chocolate to our volunteers and families and generously allowed us to take over their space to host our potluck.

Jake and Kylie and the Lost Grove Brewing team are also BBP BFFs and go above and beyond in helping us to achieve our mission year-round. This year, Jake and Kylie donated their space for our volunteer after-event party.

Our nonprofit neighbor Life’s Kitchen provided oodles of noodles for our Tasty Treats Potluck! Life’s Kitchen is dedicated to transforming the lives of young adults by building self-sufficiency and independence through comprehensive food service and life skills training, placement in the food service industry, and continuing education.

Boise Coop provided yummy sandwiches as well as lent us their pop-up tents for various event stations! “More than a grocery store, we are the unique local gathering place. We are real people; making community connections, providing education, delicious food and quality products from trusted partners. We are independent and caring; leading with our hearts and giving back to those who make us who we are. We are your neighbors. We are the Boise Co-op.”

Julie from Rolling Tomato facilitated the donation of dozens and dozens of loaves of bread and flats of focaccia from Acme Bread. Rolling Tomato is one of my favorite local nonprofits. They’re a nonprofit food recovery and distribution service, sharing good food with local organizations and people, and keeping it out of the landfill. And Acme makes some of the best bread in Boise! “At Acme Bakeshop, we bake bread fresh every day with a focus on local and sustainable ingredients.”

Happy Family Organics provided lots of yummy take-home treats and facilitated our take-home food station. Mom-founded and parent-operated, Happy Family Organics provides helpful resources and premium organic products for babies, tots, kids, and mamas.

The Idaho Foodbank provide literal pallets of potatoes and kiwis for families to take home with them. The Idaho Foodbank is an independent, donor-supported, nonprofit organization founded in 1984, and is the largest food bank and distributor of free food assistance in Idaho. From warehouses in Boise, Lewiston and Pocatello, the Foodbank distributes food for millions of meals each year through a network of over 400 community-based partners across the state. Fun fact: one of our top volunteers, Bonnie, works for The Idaho Foodbank! Thanks for all you do for this community, Bonnie!

Speaking of the Tasty Treats Potluck and take home food station, big thanks to all the individuals who made or purchased food for the potluck! Nobody went hungry on Saturday, that’s for sure!

ESI Construction lent us our line stanchions to help the registration process run smoothly. ESI Construction, headquartered in Idaho, is among the nation's top General Contractors/Construction Managers/Design Builders.

Kryptonite and Quality Bike Products collaborated to provide a hefty discount on the locks we provided with each bicycle.

Rail Tees provided free screen printing of our HKBG goody bags. With 28+ years screen printing experience, Rail Tees is your source for high quality custom screen printed t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, and more.

Verdant CrossFit and its athletes provided the human power to move 700+ bikes from our offsite storage to our alley, in less than one hour! “Verdant was established in 2014. We are proud to be a CrossFit Affiliate. Verdant has amazing members and dedicated coaches. We have many programs so that we can serve all ages and all levels of fitness.”

These volunteers go down in 2019 HKBG history as event MVPs: Gabe Brenner, Erin Anderson, Chris Summerhays, Kyle Christensen, Steve Hardy, Paula Davis, Rob Fischer, Nancy Fischer, Gary Roeder, and Bryan Wilkins, Clancy Anderson, Kasey Hochmuht, and Scott Klitsch.

Lastly, I want to acknowledge our volunteer leadership committee for the 100s of hours they put into ensuring the event was a success: Bridget Laye, Andrea Hovey, Don Streeble, Chris O’Brien, Courtney Wyatt, Joe Wyatt, Lisa Brady, Bonnie Holtzclaw, and Eric Young.
