25 individuals renewed their membership or joined the membership program during our first week of the 2019 Fall Membership Drive. With six weeks of the drive remaining, we need 42 people per week to support our cause. That’s 42 generous, committed and fun-loving folks willing to renew or join each week. Will you, can you, won’t you, be one of this week’s 42?!
Let’s talk about about those 2019 Fall Membership Drive perks. John Miyake won the raffle for a trusty Brooks B17 Standard saddle in Honey. This is the flagship saddle for Brooks, handmade in England, and beloved by BBP staff and members. With a prize valued at $145, that membership commitment paid for itself and then some! Thank you, John Miyake, for your membership; and thanks to the additional 24 folks who committed to BBP last week.
For the 42 of you who will proudly and generously commit this week, I wanted to share with you one of my favorite BBP membership perks—that’s dedicated shop time for members 2 times per week.
Our Wednesday Night Members’ Happy Hour is open to members to work on their projects with the support of BBP staff mechanics. We extend our shop hours by two hours for members only; and the shop is open until 8pm for you. Can’t get off work early? Head to the shop at 6pm to get started on your project. Have a project that requires lots of time and elbow grease? Check in at the shop earlier in the day and stay through until 8pm! Wednesday night is “Members’ Happy Hour” because it’s the one night per week at BBP that you can BYOB to enjoy (responsibly) while you work. Beer, cider, and wine are welcome, as well as snacks. Leave the hard liquor at home, please.
Sundays offer our second dedicated members-only shop time. The shop is closed to the general public, and you can work all day (11am - 5pm) in a quieter and more mellow shop. Want to choose the music? Ask Saxton and Camille to put on your (all ages) tunes!
BBP’s DIY shop is open 27 hours per week to everyone and an additional 8 hours per week to members only. I’d love to see you take advantage of the dedicated members’ shop time and build community with your fellow BBP members and our team.
Onto this week’s membership drive perk… Join or renew between today (Wednesday 10/16) and end of day Tuesday 10/22 to be entered into this week’s raffle. With building membership community in mind, 3 winners will be rewarded with a complimentary membership to gift to a friend as well as a $10 gift card to Lost Grove Brewing to purchase beer or kombucha before, after, or during your time in the shop on Wednesday nights—go ahead and bring that friend you invited into the BBP membership program!
My friends, it’s a big ask that I’m making this week. I need 42 of you to take a stand for BBP and the programming we offer. That programming, of course, includes your membership program.
