Our Mission & vision

Boise Bicycle Project is a community-focused nonprofit that promotes the personal, social, and environmental benefits of bicycling. Through inclusive access to refurbished bicycles, repair, educational experiences, and advocacy, we strive to build a stronger bicycling community.

We believe that Boise has the potential to be the bicycling capital of America, a place where everyone can experience the freedom and countless opportunities a bicycle can create.

OUR VALUES

Community

We believe in a bicycle community where everyone is welcome and all bikes belong. We foster an inclusive community through shared spaces, collaboration, and the collective enjoyment of diverse biking experiences. All riders on all bikes are warmly welcomed.

Connection

We believe in a bicycle’s unique ability to connect individuals to a brighter path of opportunity and connect everyone to a healthier future for our planet. We create connections through sustainable recycled bicycles and advocacy for safe, effective, and fun places to ride in every neighborhood.

Empowerment

We believe in a better world where everyone has the tools to start and sustain their cycling journey. We empower individuals by providing tools, sharing knowledge, and breaking down barriers that hinder them from experiencing the countless benefits a bicycle can offer.

SUPPORT OUR CAUSE

Everyone is welcome and all bike belong.

The only way BBP can achieve its mission is by creating inclusive spaces in our shop, on our rides, at our events, and in our community for groups of people who have systematically been marginalized. We want to reaffirm our ongoing commitment to black, indigenous, people of color, all bodies and abilities, LGBTQ+ people, and other marginalized communities. We will back up this commitment with actions, outcomes, and continual evaluation. We invite you to join us in this work with courage and curiosity!
