Boise Goathead Festival Volunteer Opps
The first annual Boise Goathead Festival is going down August 3rd and 4th. As you may have already heard, Goathead Fest is taking the place of Tour de Fat this year. We think this event will be even better, but we need your help. As the event is quickly approaching, we will need a hoard of volunteers of all shapes, sizes, and ages to make this possible. Stay tuned for another email with a list of all of the opportunities to get involved at the inagural Boise Goathead Festival. In the meantime, join us every Wednesday before the event for planning sessions at Lost Grove Brewery at 6 p.m. to learn more about the event and ways to get directly involved.
Volunteers receive an official BGF bandana, two drink tokens (per shift volunteered), and self-satisfaction of helping make this event a success!
We encourage potential volunteers to participate in a volunteer orientation if they haven’t volunteered at BBP before. Folks looking for group volunteer projects may contact our Volunteer Coordinator at: email@example.com for more info on how to get a team involved.
And be sure to check out our full listing of special volunteer opportunities below!
July brings us a bunch of new opportunities to get involved with BBP and the community at large! With the official start of summer upon us, the days are longer and provide ample opportunity to get out and ride our bikes. First things first, we need a few volunteers to join us on our Social Ride this Friday, July 6th as we support Artisans for Hope. Post up at our booth and talk about all the services BBP offers. Sign up here.
Twilight Criterium time is upon us and we need your help to support this year's events. Elite cyclists both locally and nationally take the streets and Boise Bicycle Project is hoping to lend a hand for this three-day event. Volunteer as a course ambassador for a UCI sponsored time-trial event, Chrono Kristen Armstrong, which starts in Star on Friday, July 13th. Visit the official volunteer signup page here to get involved (different than BBP volunteer page).
There is a great opportunity to get involved at the Twilight Trifecta that evening on Friday the 13th. It is Free National French Fry Day. We need volunteers to help pour beverages at the event on Friday night. A portion of the proceeds goes directly to BBP! This family friendly event will have food, drinks, and free French fries. The following morning, Saturday, July 14th, BBP will be supporting the Twilight Criterium Kid’s Ride and needs your help providing safety checks and cheering on riders. Click here for a breakdown of all the volunteer opportunities during the event.
School’s out for Summer! And that means we’ve got kids all over the Treasure Valley out on their bikes, cruisin’ around and soakin’ up the sunshine. Last year BBP gave away over 500 bicycles to our community’s youth and our Mobile Repair program is an attempt to keep those bikes rollin’. This month we’ll be biking to Grace Jordan and Garfield elementary schools, with more to come, and we’d love to have your help if you’re available. Here’s where you can find upcoming Mobile Repair locations, dates and times, as well as sign up for volunteer shifts.
