October 10th, 2015 the MAX Homework Assignment

NEW the MAX HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT!!! SAVE LIVES TODAY!!!

The MAX Action Items: October 10th, 2015

1. RIDE OR WALK WITH YOUR KIDS TO SCHOOL?

The weather is still great out, so now is the time to walk or ride with your kids (grandkids, nieces, nephews...) to school at least once before the winter. If you're nervous about traffic, try a practice ride on Sunday when the traffic is calm, or organize a group/train of folks and all ride together (Want more information about creating a bike train in your neighborhood? Contact jonathanw66@gmail.com). Look for areas/road infrastructure that you like and don't like and make a list or take pictures. You can use that list and pictures when it comes time to share information/write letters to your neighbors, principals and your ACHD representatives.

2. DO YOU LIVE IN NW BOISE? YOU MUST BE AT THIS MEETING AND YOU NEED TO SEE THIS PLAN!

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 6 p.m. at ACHD (3775 Adams Street, Garden City) because the Northwest Boise Walking and Biking Plan will be presented to the ACHD Commissioners for possible adoption. Even if you don't live in this area, you should take a look at the plan today, and attend the meeting to see how the process works. At some point it will be your neighborhood's turn and you need to be prepared. Here is a link with info about the meeting and the draft plan. Email Jimmy@boisebicycleproject.org if you need help understanding the draft.http://www.achdidaho.org/Projects/PublicProject.aspx…

3. PREPARE THE GOVERNOR!!!

On Wednesday, Jimmy meets with Governor C. L. "Butch" Otter, and he needs to know that YOU have reached the MAX. When you're writing anyone, the best thing you can do is thank them for something they've done right, and give them a clear opportunity to do more. So, thank the Governor for meeting with Jimmy Hallyburton to talk about making our streets safe for our children. Let him know that you support the MAX campaign, and that you would support programs that would prevent more children from getting hit. Be positive, be constructive, give him an opportunity to do something that could save lives in our communities. You can message him at the tag above, or email him at Governor@gov.idaho.gov

Ok, pick 1, 2, or do all 3. It is going to make a difference and it is going to save lives if we stick with it. You'll get another set of Action Items on Tuesday. You can search past action times by searching ‪#‎THEMAXACTIONITEMS‬ Let's keep the momentum going.

Share this on your own Facebook page and challenge others to do the same!
