Max Newlin, former resident of Emmett, is returning to the area on Saturday, August 5th to share his recent adventures and photos from his 10,009 mile bike trip around the USA.
Max worked for the Idaho State Park system and retired some years ago from his position as Manager of the Massacre State Park. His presentation is free and open to the public and will be held twice in the Emmett Library conference room (from 3-5 and 7-9 pm). Max plans to bring his bike, fully loaded so people can see how he traveled. He turned his long term goals into short term actions and took it a day at a time and sometimes a mile or two at a time and got it done, hoping to inspire others to take steps to achieve their goals! Max wants to share messages like "America is still wonderful," "heed not your weakness" and "riding a bicycle is more than pedaling!" Bring questions for him to answer such as "how did you prepare for your trip? what did you take with you? why did you embark on such long trips? "how long did it take you?" "what did you learn? and "what next?"
His talk is being sponsored by the Gem County Baha'is.
