Boise Bicycle Presents the Riding to Raise the Roof Youth Bike-A-Thon
The Boise Bicycle Project Bike-A-Thon is a pledge per mile grassroots effort to get kids riding toward a bright future for bicycling in Boise.
WHO: All kids K-12 are eligible to participate
Deadline to sign up: April 29th
PLEDGE SEEKING: April 1st - MAy 31st
FREE SAFETY CLASS & BIKE REPAIR: April 30th
BIKE-A-THON CHALLENGE: May 1st - 31st
Pledge Sheets due: JUNE 1st
AWARD CEREMONY: June 3rd - Julia Davis Park, Boise Pavilion (near the playground)
PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED DURING THE FINALE PARTY ON JUNE 3RD FOR ALL KIDS WHO PARTICIPATE WITH BONUS PRIZES FOR 25, 50 AND 100 MILES.
Kids are encouraged to seek pledges per mile from family, friends, neighbors, etc. All Bike-A-Thon proceeds will benefit Boise Bicycle Project's Riding to Raise the Rood Campaign, specifically for the upstairs community classroom. The classroom will be used for after school programs, safety classes and youth related classes.
***Helmets and lights will be provided if needed.
Example: If Jill recieves a $2/mile pledge from her parents and $3/mile from her grandparents, and Jill rides 72 miles between May 1 - 31st, then Jill has earned $360 towards BBP's Riding to Raise the Roof classroom project. Jill is rewarded by BBP for participating and for riding over 50 miles.
