Volunteer with BBP

Things to look out for this week include:

  • An improved volunteer bench and volunteer corner
  • Mobile Fix-It at the Cole and Ustick Library! from 3 pm to 5 pm Thursday, July 20th. Sign up to help out HERE.
  • Kids Fix-it Night at Thursday Volunteer night, 6:30-8:30. And…
  • We are less than a month from Tour de Fat and we are trying to rally more than 100 volunteers to make this annual event a massive success. Tell your friends, tell your family, tell complete strangers and have them all sign up for a volunteer shift HERE! Volunteers will get into the evening’s show at the Idaho Botanical Garden for free!

Until next time, happy trails!

Shop Updates

It has been a few months since the BBP’s Grand Re-Opening, and every month shop organization, layout, and flow is improved upon. Four new Alley Cat stands are a great place for members to do everything from quick fixes to in-depth overhauls. The Walk-In stand efficiently helps bicyclists diagnose and repair brakes, shifting, and everything else.

This week, we’re excited to unveil a new arrangement for our Century Ride bench and programming area. We hope that this new layout provides more space for Century members and provides a better teaching space for the burgeoning Youth Earn-a-Bike program. The new programming area should also be better arranged to fit the needs of our excellent volunteers.

I hope everyone using the shop has been enjoying the new space and the continuous refinements we’ve been making. I’m sure it will take some time to figure out all the kinks but I think the space gets better week by week.

If you have any suggestions for how we can further improve the BBP’s community shop space, let me know next time you’re at the shop or at charles@boisebicycleproject.org. I’d love to hear from Work Trade participants, Alley Cats, Century Riders, and volunteers to make the space work best for everyone.
