Meet Charles Mitchell... BBP's new Shop Manager.

Meet Charles Mitchell... BBP's Shop Manager!

Let's help him settle in to Boise!

Tomorrow we say so long to Cass Jones. Fortunately, Cass's last gift to BBP was an essential voice in hiring his replacement. After 30+ applicants and a dozen interviews Charles Mitchell, current Shop Manager of Community Bicycle Shop Omaha, rose to the top. Charles has worked hard to create connection and opportunity for Omaha youth and its growing refugee population through bicycles, and we are so excited to see the growth and perspective he will bring to the Boise Bicycle Project.

His first day at BBP will be on Sept 20th, a pretty tight timeline considering he's moving from across the country. In the meantime, We'd love your assistance in helping him and his girlfriend getting settled into our community.

A message from Charles and Teal:

Thanks again for the offer to join your team! I'm incredibly excited for the opportunity to be a part of BBP's work to improve the community through bicycles. I'm looking forward to learning more about the Boise community and what I can do to help the BBP grow.

My girlfriend, Teal, and I are trying to find a place to live before we move out there, so if you have any suggestions for affordable housing, please pass them along. Teal also says "Thanks so much for taking an interest in helping me find a place to work in Boise! I'm really excited to be joining the community and hope to contribute a lot! I've been working as the Youth Engagement Coordinator at an arts nonprofit, so I love connecting kids from underserved populations with art, gardening, nature & healthy living. I am especially interested in working with refugee kids. Looking forward to meeting you!
