This week marks the start of construction! Well not necessarily the building aspect of it, but were moving out half the shop to get ready! Starting today, Tuesday June 14th, we will begin moving the back half of the shop out in preparation for the construction to start. What does this mean, you may ask yourself? Well let me tell you! Construction is to begin at the end of this month/beginning of July. The back half of the shop, from where the truing stands are located now to the back, will be closed down. A temporary wall will be constructed to allow us to keep our doors open during operation. What does this mean as a member? Well there will be times when it is a little more congested in the shop than normal, but we will be doing everything we can to cater to our members as much as possible. We will still have the six stands in the main shop area, but will loose the two stands in the master bench area. We will move the frame specific tools to an area where they are available for use, but they may not be out where they can be easily accessed by anyone. If you are in the shop building a bike, and need one of these tools, just let us know and we will be happy to grab them for you. We realize Century Ride members as well as Alley Cat members will be losing out on some of the major benefits of their membership and we want to help account for this in the best way we can. This is why we would like to offer all members a $25 gift certificate for you to use in the shop on anything used, or to renew your membership when the time comes. We will be sending each of you an email with an attached gift certificate. Feel free to print this off and use it on your next purchase, even if its a new (used) bike!
The Friday night BYOB classes will be put on a temporary hold as well, until construction has finished. We will still be doing outreach into the community and keeping up with the summer events, but with only having the ability to have access to half the shop, and with the noise from the construction the classes would suffer. We are still able to teach you any of these topics one-on-one during open shop hours, so if there was a specific class you were waiting to attend, come on down and we will show you the way!
BBP will be having a Garage Sale this Sunday, June 19th, to try and clean house for construction. If you have been looking for projects for the summer or just some good ol' As-Is stuff, this is the sale for you! Everything Must Go!!!
