BBP is gearing up for summer and we have brought on some fresh new faces to help out on the floor, and get more bikes out to the Treasure Valley! So next time you are in the shop say hi to these new friendly faces:)
Quinn grew up in Idaho Falls where he learned the joys of riding mtn bikes and the inner workings of all types of bikes. He moved to Salt lake after graduating high school and continued to improve his mtn biking skills and attended Westminster College. Quinn helped establish a a cooperative that was a branch off of the Salt Lake Bicycle Collective, called the Westminster Bicycle Collective. He has just recently moved to Boise, and with his bicycle know-how, and his experience in another cooperative, we knew he was the one for BBP.
Clare is coincidently from Idaho Falls as well, but instead of heading South to Utah, she headed North to beautiful Moscow, Idaho. She attended school at University of Idaho, and started honing her skills at a small shop in Pullman, Washington. She was able to work alongside their lead mechanic and quickly became a skilled mechanic. Clare just moved to Boise, and when she found BBP she knew she wanted to be a part of the magic. We have happily brought her on and she has been pumping out bikes for our programs, and helping on the floor during open shop hours.
Pedal 4 The People
Starting June 16th BBP will host the 5th annual Pedal 4 The People event. This is a 10 day event that celebrates bikes and everything that is awesome about them. No event is a bad event! If it involves bikes, smiles, fresh air, and happy people, it is the perfect event. In the past we have seen wheelie contests, skid contests, best trick, bike in movies, bare crawls, ice cream crawls, Mario Kart, mountain bike scavenger hunt, and the list goes on. BBP has created the calendar, accessible at http://www.pedal4thepeople.org/, and all you need to do is come up with an ultra sweet event and then post it up so people can attend. If you have any questions about how to host an event, or put it on the calendar, just let us know and we can help!
